QRfactuur privacy policy

Last updated: 7 July 2026

QRfactuur turns an invoice PDF into a payment QR code — to pay a received invoice, or to put a payment QR on your own invoice. Privacy comes first: the app is built so that your data never leaves your Mac.

No data collection

QRfactuur collects, shares or sends no personal data. There is no account, no tracking, no advertising technology and no analytics in the app. The developer receives no data whatsoever from the app.

Local processing

Reading the invoice (with PDFKit and, for scanned invoices, Apple's built-in text recognition) and creating the QR code happen entirely on your own Mac. The invoice and the extracted details are not sent to the internet and not stored outside the app.

For processing, the app makes a temporary copy of the PDF in the app's sandboxed temporary folder. That copy is accessible only to the app and is cleaned up automatically by macOS; the data is not stored permanently.

When you put a payment QR on your own invoice, the exported PDF is saved only to the location you choose yourself in the save dialog. Nothing is sent or stored elsewhere.

No internet, no payments

QRfactuur makes no connection to the internet and does not carry out any payments itself. The app only prepares the payment details in a QR code; scanning, checking and confirming the payment is something you do in your own banking app.

App Store and Apple

QRfactuur is distributed through the Mac App Store. When you download and rate the app, Apple processes data under its own privacy policy. From Apple, the developer receives only aggregated, non-personally-identifiable statistics, such as the number of downloads.

Security

QRfactuur runs in the macOS App Sandbox with a hardened runtime and has read-only access to the files you choose yourself. The app does not request network access and does not need it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have, among others, the right to access, correct and erase your personal data. Because QRfactuur processes or stores no personal data of yours, there is nothing for the developer to access or delete. Should you still have a question, feel free to get in touch.

Children

The app is intended for business and general use and is not aimed at children. No data from children is collected.

Your responsibility

Always check for yourself that the extracted details (IBAN, amount, payee and reference) are correct before paying. You remain responsible for the payment you confirm in your banking app.
