QRfactuur — everything you want to know
QRfactuur works both ways. Paying an invoice: you open a received invoice PDF, the app reads the payment details (IBAN, payee name, amount and reference) and turns them into a payment QR code you scan with your banking app. QR on your own invoice: you open your own invoice and the app puts a payment QR on it that you export as a PDF, so your client pays correctly in a single scan. No more retyping account numbers, no typos.
QRfactuur is an app for the Mac (macOS 14 or later). There is no iPhone or Windows version.
QRfactuur is free and available on the Mac App Store.
Open an invoice PDF or drag it into the window. QRfactuur reads the payment details and shows three columns: the editable fields, a preview of the invoice to check against, and the live payment QR. Scan that QR with your banking app.
Yes. Choose "QR on my invoice", open your own invoice PDF and QRfactuur puts a payment QR in the corner you choose. You then export a clean PDF with the QR on it, so your client pays correctly in a single scan. The caption below the QR (by default "Scan to pay") can be adjusted in the settings.
Yes. You copy the payment QR as an image (PNG) and paste it into WhatsApp, email or a document. Or you export your invoice with the QR as a PDF. The caption below the QR (by default "Scan to pay") can be adjusted in the settings.
Yes. Download our sample invoice (PDF) and open it in QRfactuur. You'll see how the app reads the payment details and turns them into a payment QR — with fictional data, so you can practise safely.
Yes. If the PDF has no text layer (a scan, for example), the app recognises the text automatically with built-in text recognition (OCR).
Yes. Every field is editable; the QR code updates instantly as you change something. That way you correct a misread value in one tap.
QRfactuur checks the IBAN for format and check digits (mod-97), so common reading errors are caught. Always check for yourself that all details are correct before paying.
The QR code follows the European EPC standard for SEPA transfers and works with the banking apps of ING, Rabobank, ABN AMRO, SNS, ASN, RegioBank, bunq, Knab and Triodos, among others.
No. QRfactuur only prepares the payment details in a QR code. Scanning, checking and confirming the payment is always something you do yourself in your own banking app.
Everything stays local on your Mac. QRfactuur makes no connection to the internet, uses no account and collects no data. Read more in the privacy policy.
No. Reading the invoice and creating the QR code happen entirely on your own Mac.
