Afstanden privacy policy

Afstanden is a macOS app that shows driving distances and postcodes to district courts, courts of appeal, penitentiary institutions and police stations, calculated from the office address you enter yourself. We take your privacy seriously. This app is designed to work with as little data as possible.

What data does the app process?

• Office address and destinations (postcodes/names): you enter these yourself. They are stored solely locally on your Mac.
• Calculated distances: stored locally in a temporary cache on your Mac.

Is data shared with us or with third parties?

• The developer collects no data. There are no accounts, no tracking technologies, no advertising and no analytics.
• Apple Maps (MapKit): to convert addresses into coordinates and calculate driving distances, the app sends the office address and the postcodes to Apple's map services. This processing falls under Apple's privacy policy.
• Optional location lists: if you choose to download an online location list, the app makes a standard request to our website. No personal data of yours is sent with it.

Storage and retention

All data you enter stays locally on your device (in the Application Support folder and in the app settings). You can delete locations and categories within the app at any time. When you delete the app, this data is removed from your Mac.

Your rights

Because all data stays locally on your device and we collect no data, you have full control: you can view, change and delete data through the app itself.
